In the year 2009 a total of 1 331 684 self propelled used vehicles were re-registered in South Africa, 547 450 of which was registered in Gauteng alone.
A total of 63 349 tow vehicles were re-registered, 23 425 of which was registered in Gauteng.
New number plates for Gauteng!
Although the specific dates for replacement has not been released yet a guideline has been given in the Provincial Gazette of 10 February 2010.
The replacement will have effect in 2 month intervals starting with the letter B, 2 months after notice comes into effect, the letter C 4 months and so forth.
